Don't Steal My Eggs 1x1x1x1 Guide: Location, Speed Chase & Rewards

Where to find 1x1x1x1 in Don't Steal My Eggs, how the second zone champion chase works, what speed you need, and the sphinx egg and badge it grants.

1x1x1x1 is the champion of the second zone in Don't Steal My Eggs. You meet it at that zone's pharaoh/sphinx stage, right before the run moves on to the ice kingdom. The fight is a speed chase rather than a battle: if the pet you're currently playing is fast enough to catch the champion, it goes down on the spot. Defeating it awards a sphinx egg immediately, turns you into the sphinx, and ties directly into the "Discover Sphinx" badge — officially "Earned By Defeating The 2nd Zone Champion."

Where to find 1x1x1x1

The champion waits at the end of the second zone, at its pharaoh/sphinx stage. The zone is the one with that pharaoh content, and it sits just before the next world, the ice kingdom — whose visible boss is the yeti final boss. If you're staring down the pharaoh chase, you're in the right place.

The game's own badge list confirms the placement: "Discover Sphinx" is "Earned By Defeating The 2nd Zone Champion.", and in a recorded playthrough the sphinx egg arrives the exact moment the 1x1 falls.

For the full tour of the zone — every stage, egg and treadmill before the champion — see the second zone guide. This page stays on the encounter itself.

The fight is a chase, not combat

There's no attack button involved. Your speed comes from the pet you currently are — as the recorded run puts it, "the pet that you are, the faster you go" — so the encounter is about catching the champion before the attempt runs out.

If you can't reach the target, nothing dramatic happens: the attempt simply ends. That's how a failed chase plays out in the run — "I wonder what happens when you can't reach him. So, we just Oh, it ends." — and a near miss tells you exactly what was missing: "Just a little bit more speed and we would be right there." The clean fail-state observation was captured during a regular egg chase rather than the champion chase itself, and no timer is displayed, but the champion encounter works the same way: fall short, and the attempt is over while you keep everything.

Build speed before you challenge the pharaoh

Two levers decide the chase:

  1. Train. Treadmills raise your speed stat continuously — the run treats training as the default activity between attempts.
  2. Become a faster pet. Hatching eggs and equipping your strongest animal changes what you are, and therefore how fast you go. The hatching guide and pets overview cover the loop; the speed training guide covers the treadmill side.

For scale, in the recorded run the player bought the event pass, picked up an Obsidian Golem for 320 Robux, equipped it, and saw that "just after training for like 5 seconds, we already have 10 billion speed." After a little more training came the verdict: "20 billion should be plenty to now defeat the pharaoh egg" — and the next attempt won. Treat that ~20 billion figure as one boosted-run data point (event pass, the Robux golem and purchased game passes all helped), not a universal requirement. Your own number depends on your pets and boosts; if a chase fails, the game shows you how close you got, so keep training and re-attempting until the gap closes.

Beating 1x1x1x1, step by step

  1. Reach the pharaoh/sphinx stage at the end of the second zone.
  2. Equip your fastest pet — what you are is how fast you run.
  3. Train on treadmills until your speed is comfortably past whatever your last attempt showed you.
  4. Start the chase and stay locked on the champion.
  5. If it slips away, note the near miss, train more (or equip something stronger), and re-attempt — a failed attempt just ends, so retrying costs you nothing but time.
  6. When you connect: "And now the pharaoh. Bang. There goes the 1x1." The champion falls, the sphinx egg pops up, and you turn into the sphinx on the spot.

Rewards: the sphinx egg and the Discover Sphinx badge

The sphinx egg lands the moment the champion falls, and you become the sphinx right there ("I think we're the sphinx right now"). When the egg hatches in the run — a cosmic sphinx egg — it produces the sphinx at 400 million, "our best new animal" at that point. The same boosted run later collected more sphinx eggs, including a rainbow sphinx doing 3.2 billion. Whether a sphinx egg is guaranteed on every champion defeat or was specific to this run isn't documented, but the recorded defeat awarded it on the spot.

The rarity figure is the share of players who have earned the badge, and both numbers come from a third-party stats snapshot (RBLXSTAT), so they reflect that snapshot's date. Nearly 29,000 earners in a single day show the badge is actively obtainable — and no in-game perk beyond the badge itself is documented. It marks the second zone champion defeated.

After the sphinx: the ice kingdom

Completing the encounter opens the next world, the ice kingdom, where the yeti final boss waits — and the run's first chase there is a humbling one: "not even close to getting it." Expect the same loop you just learned, at a much higher number.

One open question for completionists: the documented path back into the encounter is the fail/train/retry loop, but whether the champion can be re-farmed for more sphinx eggs after you've already beaten it isn't documented. Where 1x1x1x1 sits in the broader run, see the zone progression guide, and if you're still climbing toward the pharaoh stage, the second zone guide walks the whole zone from the start.
